The Northwest Corner : blue lodge-pha?

    Event Date: May/27/2009 - December/31/2010
Author: fmlymn
Subject: blue lodge-pha?
Posted: May/27/2009 at 5:35am

I'm fairly new to the craft. I've been an mm since sept 08. My question is being that I'm in the military and I won't be stationed in Hawaii forever & I'm not 100% sure that the state of texas recognizes black guys as blue lodge masons. So would I have to convert over to pha? Or am I just stuck? The reason I ask this is so that I can attend the lodge the men in my family attend and maybe eventually make my home lodge. I just don't want any bad blood between my home lodge now or any possible future lodges. If anyone has any answers or advice please feel free to reply to this message. I apologize if anyone may think that this is a stupid question but I just don't know the answer.

Over the years we have gotten to the point where all we do is open the lodge, do our business, close and go home. In the past we would have 15 to 20 guys on the sideline and now we hardley fill the stations.

I have a few ideas in my head to involve the sideliners in every meeting as well as things to do after the meeting to get the guys to hang around and chat it up like old times but I would like to know some of the things that other lodges are doing to revive their lodges. Keep in mind that we are a small town in Montana so big public events are as usefull as putting a parking lot in a corn field. I need to figure out what to do within the walls of the lodge to bring guys back.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
