Who customarily purchases the tallit for the groom at Jewish weddings (for chuppah and hereafter), the grooms mother or his bride? I heard both opinions...maybe it relies on upon which Jewish stream? (Orthodox, Conservative, or other). Anyone here know? Furthermore please include which stream your thought originates from. Many thanks to you. Edited by jinetakosa - October/03/2014 at 3:26pm |

My wife and I are both Conservative and I honestly don't know if there is any custom regarding this. In my case, my father passed away before we got married so I wore his even though I already had one of my own.
Have you asked the rabbi who will be performing the ceremony for his opinion? Edited by WBScott - October/24/2014 at 10:12pm |
