In my chapter, our Conductress has asked me to be Associate Patron when she moves up next year to be Associate Matron... and to also move up with her when she becomes Worthy Matron.
Any advice? I've never done this before, obviously.

Its a GOOD THING when that happens, because it shows that she has endorsed you to be a Worthy Patron. It sounds as if she is taking her upcoming role seriously, which means you just need to pay attention, learn the ritual, constitution & bylaws.
Also, it would be EXCELLENT if you would spend some time getting familiar with the legends of each of those heroines, to understand the brave lessons and womanly virtues they suggest... Just a suggestion |

It's a suggestion that I'm going to pay close heed to.

....and I am now the Associate Patron of Nellie Custis Chapter #169, Order of the Eastern Star, under the Grand Chapter of Virginia. I'm also going *to* Grand Chapter in Williamsburg in May.

JD I am with you Buddy. I am hearing ramblings that I may move up to either Associate or Worthy Patron for next year. I don't think I am worthy of the position right now, and I would rather wait a bit, but we have a small chapter, and filling chairs is sometimes like musical chairs.
