My GL posted about events coming up, so I checked the website and to my surprise I found there is a cave degree coming up in September, and I don't have to drive all the way across the state just to attend!

Technically it's an outdoor degree as opposed to a cave degree since it's going to be held in a castle instead of a cave, but way cool all the same!

That's very cool!  I wish I could attend.

Enjoy Brother.

A degree in a castle? That is too cool! Too bad I am in Cali. Let us know how it went.

I love hearing about degrees being done in awesome locations even just a blue lodge degree in a different location. We are going to be doing a FC degree soon at our Masonic home. The brother receiving the degree father lives there and will get to see him go through it.

This summer I had the pleasure of seeing a Third degree in a rock quarry in Waterloo, Iowa. It was quite a sight!

The WM at our lodge was in search of a place for a low veil degree but I have heard no talk of it since it's mention. I think a degree by candle or lantern light would be really awesome.

I think I've heard of an actual "Cave Degree" that takes place in Austin...in a cave.

We have outdoor degrees around here in KY that are by actual lantern light, and dressed to the era. Brothers say it's a very nice experience, and that it brings whole new meaning to the teachings. Hopefully, I'll be able to attend one soon!

Yea! I really like the thought of the more uncommon settings like that. It's like it paints a whole new picture when you see it put on like that.

Wow.  I fall under the Grand Lodge, F.A.A.M. of the District of Columbia, and know that we're already in amity with the Grand Lodge, A.F.M. of South Carolina.  I'm definitely going to this if at all possible (I'm currently at Fort Gordon for military training).

This ought to be awesome.

Valley Lodge #521 in Louisville is putting on the Master Mason's Degree outdoors next week.  Here is a link to the officers' page of their website:  http://www.valleylodge511.com/officers.htm

I met one of the Past Masters, David Korfhage, at their weekly Fish Fry.  The phone numbers listed have an area code of  502.

Give them a call to find out date, time and location.
