PLEASE NOTE: This is not referencing our formal requirements (*DO NOT state them here*)

When examining a potential candidate do you have any special traits or characteristics that you look for to determine if they are worthy to join your ranks as a Mason?

I just use instinct. I am very inquisitive, so the more I inquire, the more I can ascertain. There's really nothing I look for specifically.

I look for good character and a sincerity in wanting to be a Mason.

The candidate comes to supper at the lodge a few times and then the investigative committee goes to his house to talk with him and his wife and ask all manner of questions. They are also encouraged ask questions. The questions are pretty probing. I'd say that the supper get togethers are the most telling.
