Last night it was 2 degrees F (that's -17 C for you metric folk) in Hell, Michigan

So yes, it seemed that Hell did freeze over last night!

Anyway, what's the temp in your neck o' the woods today? It was down to 16F by the time I got to Washington DC this morning

It is my pleasure to assure you that it is NOT snowing in Florida today.

It is, however, freezing cold out there; thermometer on El Porcho says 48 degrees.

If this keeps up, I may have to recharge my electric socks, and turn SWMBO up to about 9 at bedtime....

I regret to have to inform you, Brother, that 48F is NOT 'freezing' cold! LOL

Down here in the Far North that would be considered a VERY mild winter's day!

Of course we would report it as +9C!

I spent a tour in the Air Force in Hawaii, about 50 years ago....

It was amazing; when it got below about 68 degrees, out came the parkas, mukluks and gloves.

I am originally from NH; we are used to cold weather there; seeing these guys getting around like it freezing to death was imminent was weird.

Now I live in Fla; like I said, 48 degrees is really cold here. Right now, it's a sweltering 62 degrees outside; I am going to go to bed with my book, and when Momma C comes to bed I will turn her up to about 9.

Best wishes to all

Bro. Chadwick

A lot of brethren from here are in Florida right now on vacation. I'm sure they are preferring the temperatures there, however low you may consider them, rather than the ones we are having here!

Personally, when, on the rare occasions here, the temperature (in the summer!) gets above 75 F I start 'feeling the heat'!  The advantage of our climate, I feel, is that as it gets colder you can simply put on more and more clothes, whereas as it gets hotter, at some point taking clothes off ceases being an option!

As you say, its all relative!

Thursday it was freezing. When I got up it was 9*F and only got up to 17. It's warmed back up as it got up to 41 yesterday and is currently 35.

Bro. Paul...

You're right, it's all relative.. I just can not resist commenting. After 23 years in the Air Force in places like Australia, Hawaii, the Philippines, Fiji, My NH blood thinned out considerably, but I can remember mornings when the mercury was huddled down in the bulb of the thermometer.

And yes, we see many of your fellow Canadians here in the winter; our Marshal is a PM from an Ontario Lodge. We welcome them; they are a very nice bunch of people, but, as I drive around looking at all the Canadian license plates, I can't help but hope that the last person crossing the border remembers to take the flag down.....

Oh well, back outside to play in the yard. It is now a sweltering 65 degrees, and sunny.....

(Eat your heart out....... ;-)

I got a million of'em.....

(That one's not my line; some comedian from about the '40's said it first)

but the flag line jest popped out; I think the Devil made me say it.

Bro. Chadwick

I can't speak for 'mainland' Canadians but we Newfoundlanders always end up coming home!

A brother I know was asked, after describing the wonderful weather he had experienced while vacationing in Florida, why he came back to our VERY changeable weather. He replied "Sunny and warm every day is too boring! I had nothing to complain about!"

Hi Canadian Paul,

Warm and sunny year round is very boring. I like and need the change of seasons too.

A reason for me staying here in Boston while some of my life long friends have moved to warmer climes.
Please Note: I am not a Mason. And also, I am not an anti-Mason!
