This day in HISTORY
On this day in 1517, the priest and scholar Martin Luther approaches the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, and nails a piece of paper to it containing the 95 revolutionary opinions that would begin the Protestant Reformation.

On this day in 1776, in his first speech before British Parliament since the leaders of the American Revolution came together to sign of the Declaration of Independence that summer, King George III acknowledges that all was not going well for Britain in the war with the United States.

On this day, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, by Arthur Conan Doyle, is published. The book was the first collection of Holmes stories, which Conan Doyle had been publishing in magazines since 1887.

Harry Houdini, the most celebrated magician and escape artist of the 20th century, dies of peritonitis in a Detroit hospital. Twelve days before, Houdini had been talking to a group of students after a lecture in Montreal when he commented on the strength of his stomach muscles and their ability to withstand hard blows. Suddenly, one of the students punched Houdini twice in the stomach. The magician hadn’t had time to prepare, and the blows ruptured his appendix. He fell ill on the train to Detroit, and, after performing one last time, was hospitalized. Doctors operated on him, but to no avail. The burst appendix poisoned his system, and on October 31 he died.

In the autumn of 1963, Beatlemania was a raging epidemic in Britain, and it was rapidly spreading across the European continent. But in the United States, where the likes of Bobby Vinton and Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs sat atop the pop charts, John, Paul, George and Ringo could have walked through Grand Central Terminal completely unnoticed. It wasn’t Grand Central that the Beatles were trying to walk through on this day in 1963, however—it was Heathrow Airport, London, where they’d just returned from a hugely successful tour of Sweden. Also at Heathrow that particular day, after a talent-scouting tour of Europe, was the American television impresario Ed Sullivan. The pandemonium that Sullivan witnessed as he attempted to catch his flight to New York would play a pivotal role in making the British Invasion possible.

On October 31, 1950, 21-year-old Earl Lloyd becomes the first African-American to play in an NBA game when he takes the court in the season opener for the Washington Capitols.

On October 31, 1934, that would be a long long long long time ago in the small German\Russian community of Lodi CA.  This date goes down in history as the birthday of the first born warlock in town one Jerome E Kroeger.  Born with a Cheshire grin and those wee wheels turning up stairs, the town was in for a whole lot mischief.  I'm amazed it still exists.  Happy B-d Jerry

Many years ago, I think about the time I was in grade school, I recall being taught about Martin Luther and his posting of the opinions on the church at Wittenberg. I also recall being taught that this action resulted in something called the Diet of Worms getting involved.

My reaction, at that time, was “Geez, he said something that the Church didn’t like and they made him eat worms? No wonder he organized his own religion”.

And yes, I eventually learned the rest of the story, but that interpretation has stuck with me all these years.

Biver no longer has a day-to-day role in Hublot, but rather manages Hublot replica watches along with other LVMH watch brands from the top. For instance, it was recently announced that he replica watches would be filling in as the interim CEO of TAG Heuer - another LVMH brand. That isn't a job Jean-Claude probably rolex replica wants right now, as he has been toying with retirement for a while - but he steps up when he is rolex replica sale needed. Hublot has been doing a good job of keeping the fire alive without Jean-Claude, but with Ricardo always out and about, I can't help but wonder who rolex replica keeps the peace back at HQ. I mention the above as a semi-explanation of the fact that Hublot doesn't always have all the replica watches details settled when they announce a new replica watches uk partnership or product. The major question on the table is whether or not there will be a limited replica watches uk production "Mr. Brainwatch Edition" watch.
