From the Net, here's the outside of our Lodge....

And from our recent 250th Anniversary Church Service. I'm on the far left standing in the back Wink.

Amazing lodge Brother!  250 years is quite impressive.  And I followed the link, inside your lodge room is amazing.  The wood looks great.  You all look sharp too.

I'd love to see more photos of your lodge and others across the pond!

Cheers Brother, much appreciated! The photo in the link is actually inside the First Presbyterian Non-Subscribing Church in Dromore where we chose to have our anniversary service, but our lodge looks similar. Same type of carpet&wood, but now as big LOL. I'm sure I'll be able to score a few pics one day, and a friend&Bro. of mine also happens to be a member of the Dublin Grand Lodge, which is much more impressive, and even older than ours! It would be nice to get around to getting a few of theirs as well.

Whoops!  Nice church then!  It's always good to see things across the pond, since my current budget prohibits such far travels.  Hopefully you can score a few of those photos inside the lodge.  Thanks for posting them!

That's a great looking Masonic building, Bro∴Michael,

I'm also in the Province of Down - so would be good to get down to Dromore sometime to visit.

Our hall is nothing like as grand looking, but it serves its purpose well.

You should come visit tm. It's also the Queensland grand lodge.
I think the pipe organ is the third largest in Australia from memory. All the furniture was built inside the room and has never seen the light of day. There are five lodge rooms and two festive rooms.

I believe there is even a apartment under the first floor for the temple steward. Although I don't think he lives there any more.

What type of timber is used in the furniture and when was the furniture made. To me, the older, the better. We have furniture in our Lodge(made of jarrah) dating back to 1920, and I get real upset, when someone mistreats it.
I do love it, when Lodges share their secrets. Big smile

Hi Camb.Mason,

Fantastic pictures.  I am so impressed.  (I'm from South Boston).  Obviously I am not a Cambridgodian, yet I recognize the photo.  So cool.

I can't get over how clean and orderly are the inside of these Lodges.

Hi Et2ss,

My jaw constantly drops from these Lodge pictures, and the dignity of the membership.  I am not a Mason, so please understand my reactions, I have never been aware of Freemasonry until just a couple of weeks ago and now I'm simply awed.

I'm from Boston and have walked past the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts across from the Boston Common only my-entire-life without giving it a second thought.  Thought it was just a rich man's Elk's club.  Now I'm becoming a real fan.

Again, these pictures are simply impressive and thanks for sharing.Clap

It is a wonderful experience that I went/am going through. My only regret is not petitioning sooner.

Just remember

Hi Et2ss,

Last week I took a tour of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts here in Boston.  I am not a Mason, and I have been walking past that Lodge all my life.  It was utterly breath taking inside that building.  I feel priviledge.

I can second that.  I so wish I had done this when I was younger and my father was stil alive. But, I plan to enjoy every minute of my time as a mason that I have left.

Best regards Handshake

That is an amazing looking lodge. Great detail and wood work. Shiny, clean checkered pavement....I admire the European/Canadian aprons too. Very sharp looking.

Sharp looking bunch of fellows! I really like the Euro/Canadian aprons. I wish they were more commonly used here in the U.S.

I am a member of a small (94 Master Masons) lodge in a somewhat rural area. Our physical lodge is two stories with the "Fellowship hall" (aka dining room) on the lower level and the lodge itself is on the second floor. I could show you pictures of it, but to be totally honest, there really isn't anything particularly outstanding about it.

But here is a picture from our annual Mardis Gras banquet we had on February 5 (which is why people are wearing beads):

(No, I am not in the picture)

We enjoy getting together periodically outside of a regular communication because... well... regular meetings can get a little boring at times. The other thing it does is that it allows us to have non-Masons from the community attend our events. The woman in the middle is the director of a woman's shelter that was badly in need of upgrades to their facility. She is receiving a check from our lodge in the amount of $3600 that we raised on her behalf. The guys in the picture (along with several other lodge members) will use that money to build them new bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities and take care of other much needed general maintenance.

Now that is what Masonry is about!

Thumbs Up
"...the great lesson of charity. That principle upon which the superstructure of freemasonry is erected; to restore peace to the troubled bosom, to relieve distress is the great aim which we as masons have in view."

Some people say the purpose of Freemasonry is not Charity, but the above statement in the EA degree was what impressed me the most and is the reason I am still a Mason some 42 years later.

This sounds similar to the EA lecture in Missouri where we first learn of the three principle rounds (or staves) of Jacob's ladder which are Faith, Hope and Charity. The greatest of these is Charity, for our faith may be lost in sight, hope ends in fruition, but Charity extends beyond the grave, through the boundless realms of eternity.
