This is the Albany Masonic Temple located in Albany, New York. The first picture is where many bodies meet, including my lodge which is Masters #5. The second is the outside facade. If you were to walk out of the Temple, take a right and walk about one quarter mile, you would be at the State Capitol, and have walked by Albany City Hall. (It's also the older piece of continuously owned Masonic land in the US )

There are literally a thousand and one stories to that building. Brother Chris Hodapp spoke there a few weeks ago, and I believe he took some great photos. Here is a link to the history of the Temple - http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/albany/org/masonic.html. As for photos, I will take some the next time I am there!

WOW!  So very cool to see all the variety in the lodge buildings!

I'll add our own to it.  Columbian Lodge in Boston meets at the Grand Lodge Masonic Building in Boston.

Our particular lodge meets in Corinthian Hall:

and here is what our lodge office looks like:

Here are a few other rooms in the building that we sometimes use:

Yes, very beautiful Grand lodge.  Every lodge room was unique and beautiful.  Even the former entrance where the marble graving on the floor was awesome!  So much to see in that building, I wish I could've toured it again before I left.  I know you must enjoy it at every meeting.

Does the pipe organ in the Cambridge lodge work?  Do you have anyone who can play it?  There are organizations who are interested in these instruments.  It is a wonderful lodge.

I am always amazed by the lodges that we have. There are so many beautiful lodges out there.

Nope, I "stole" it from my lodge's website.  The guy who does our website is pretty good.

I haven't asked him, but I'm almost sure it was photoshop that made that sky.  Click the link in my signature to see a larger photo on the website.

But yes!  It really is a normal sky here in the Sunshine State/Tampa Bay haha

Its crazy...my mom used to work in the lower corner office a few years back and I never realized it was the lodge. I gotta say, it took me by surprise when brother McLaughin took me into the lodge room. I NEVER expected to see that room in there.

As for the sky, its photoshop. If you look at the right side of the picture you can see that the sky comes all the way down to the ground and looks a little unatural. Living in Tampa you know that to the right of the lodge is a park (I believe), and more buildings that take up that space.

Yup!  It's a park over there.  Good way to prove it.  I was about 99.999% sure anyway that it was photoshop haha.

That is an easy one to explain. Catechism is nothing more than the memory work you must memorize between degrees. Each degree has a certain amount of things you must memorize before you advance to the next degree. All he was saying was that he was at the lodge working on learning that with his coach (Terry).

I suspect they are a troll or bot. They made one other post in a different thread that was completely unrelated. Also, check out the signature.

In case they are not, I would suspect the rooms they were talking about were the Scottish Rite ones posted above.

Come on Brothers, post some more!  I love seeing the differences between lodges and how each lodge makes improvements.

Ya it's very interesting, the building is so old that there is no running water, and we have an indoor outhouse (no joke) :)

I LOVE IT!!!  It looks like something out of the old west.  In the grand lodge building in Boston, we have a couple of paintings depicting lodges meeting in upstairs rooms from old Taverns in the 1860s.  This looks just like those paintings.  Great little building.  I'd love to visit someday.

Your Welcome anytime Brother, and I'll tell you what, being originally from Massachusetts myself, next time I come home to Boston, I'll try to visit your Lodge as well.
