Now as for the bogus Lodge......the best way is look up the "recognised" Lodges in MD(you didn't say what part of MD you're from)  or a member here can contact you with a "recognised" Lodge close to home.

The Hiram GL of MD is one of the many clandestine groups in this country.  It is clandestine because the group that issued the charters for this GL is clandestine also.  So the rules of "Ancient Craft Masonry, as stated by Albert G. Mackey" were not followed.  (quoted from Hiram GL website)  The link to the GL of MD is a deceptive product that these groups often use to make uninformed people think that they are recognized by these legitimate bodies.

A Grand Lodge must have been established by: a) a recognised Grand Lodge, or b) three (nowadays) or more regularly constituted private Lodges, formed in accordance within the rules and customs of a regular Grand Lodge.  This was not done.  Please request members of this GL to inform you of the GL that issued the charter for the Oriental Grand Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New Jersey.  Also ask if it ever traces back to the UGLE, GL of Ireland, or GL of Scotland.  Also request the proof to see with you own eyes.

Bug, it must be the IF & AM newbies again.  Anything to build their down line......

Me, when I joined up didn't know they existed either and I soon learned about them. From what i can gather, you haven't joined a Lodge yet, either "legit" or Bogus, so there's no harm done, but if you peruse the links provided and then contact a Lodge in Baltimore(where I have been), then you are on the right path. The Interstate around Washington DC.  Generally everything that happens inside the beltway is politically motivated and only half true.   Also called the full spin zone.

Bro, Gerry, I've visited Friendship Lodge on 2 occasions. I live down 81 in Berkeley county. I hope to get up there again in the Spring.

He was in the process of petitioning a PHA lodge in Baltimore this summer, but I haven't received an update since then.  I just sent him a PM to inquire about his status.  I hope things worked out well for him.
