I have mine on the left rear (driver side) of my vehicle just because that's where I had seen most of them placed. although in my personal opinion I don't believe it matters where you put it as long as it's there.   I know a lot of brothers who don't have emblems on their vehicles. I think everyone should have at least a blue lodge emblem. It's free advertising for the fraternity.

Its not that complicated.   I have seen typically its on the side of the person who primarily uses the vehicle.   For example, I have seen OES/DOE/HOJ etc on the left and Blue/York/AASR/Shrine etc on the right - which tells me that its her car...

I didn't buy one. However, the image came straight from the Grand Lodge's website here

I would be interested to know if the actual purchased ones look different.

I found one, Flow. I still think they need to work on the cool factor of this design though.

Edit: the sides are cut off a bit (I had to copy the image and paste/save in paint and it got a bit messed up)

Can you please explain this more? I have seen this phrase used before on a few occasions, and it seems to usually involve accosting anyone bearing a S&C and demanding proof that he is a Mason.

There is nothing or no one to that you must protect you emblem from.  If your WM has told you that  "that's a bad idea, so I'd just wait till the moment is right" well all I am going to say is if you are a MM then then moment is right.

I don't think so.

No it isn't but a portion of the additional cost would go to the Mainstream GL and none of it to the PHGL.  There is currently no mutual recognition between the two GL's in AL.  I would doubt that the PH brothers would want to support a GL that doesn't even recognize them as brothers.  Just my .02.  That is why I was asking.

Sadly there was little support for our tag, so I doubt many would attempt to purchase one for the GL of AL.

Well actually we just got it approved.  We should have them in March or April from what the people at the tag and licenses dept. just told me.  For right now it is a design that they pick, which is a blue square and compass in the center of the tag.  If we get a few more people obligated to buy them the GL will get to pick a design.

Thanks Tommy

Mainstream GL huh?

Yes, I'm not sure if anything is in the works with PHA.

There wont be one anytime soon for PHA AL.

If given an opportunity to, most PHA masons I know will PROUDLY have a tag bearing the emblem of their profession. Most of em already have specialty tags from colleges and what not.

However, if the additional loot is going to Mainstream GL, I don't think any of them will.

But then again, I can't speak for all the PHA Masons of Alabama

Brother Traveler357, nice to see you signed up on this forum.  I had a great time at Evanston Masonic Temple receiving my Royal Arch Mason Degrees with you!  I hope to see you make it down my way as I will try to make it up your way again.  The Evanston Masonic Temple was beautiful, wasn't it!  I'll call you later.

Hello Brother,
It is my feelings that a Master Mason should apply his Masonic Light {Emblem} on the Rear Left side of the auto. Starting from the far left if on the trunk deck lid leaving room to apply emblems from your Appendant Bodies going from left to right. I also think placing on the left side of the rear window which is to reflect the owner and or driver of the vehicle is a Mason and placement to the left gives the motorist behind you clear view of the Emblems more so if you are broke down on the road the person driving by will not see your emblem if it is on the right side. Keep in mind that most emergency stops on the road typically you will pull to the right side shoulder which will leave the left side of the auto in clear view for any motorist driving by that may give assistance.

You can go to masonicdecals.com and they have numerous colors, sizes, and designs that you can order. They are really inexpensive and seem to last a long time.

I wonder why he told you that was not a good idea?

These days, it doesn't take much to get up to $30k when buying a new vehicle.

Here in Oz, where I live in Gero, we have a number of brethren who openly display badges, stickers on their cars. One or 2 have the licence plae "WAC(Western Australian Constitution) with S&C on it also,

On the lower left hand side of the tail gate on my F-150 I have a S&C emblem, Scottish Rite emblem and a York Rite emblem.  A Masonic license plate is available in PA, but then I would have to give up my license plate with my amateur (ham) radio call sign.  Wish I could have my call on a Masonic plate, but that's not possible.

I am going to get an official Masonic license plate (VA has about 12 different: Blue Lodge, OES, Prince Hall, Shrine, Scottish Rite, etc). Texas has received preliminary approval for an official plate, the sample is up on the internet. If enought Texas Masons agree to purchase one, the plate will go into production soon. Alabama has a Shrine plate, but no blue lodge plate.

I would like to see all 50 states, and DC have a Masonic license plate. If your state does not have one yet (Florida does not have a Masonic plate!), then contact your Grand Lodge and/or your local Dept of Motor vehicles and get them to authorize one.

BTW- The Grand Lodge of KY gets a $7 rebate on all Masonic tags sold!
