Looking at a new MM ring, and would like to know the difference between the red stone versus the blue stone that square and compass is set in. Some also have the black onyx. What does the stone colors signify?

Well I went with the red stone and yellow gold. Red for Marine Corp, and the fact that I am going into Riyal Arch on the 10th of January.

In some jurisdictions, blue refers to your home lodge where you received the three degrees and red refers to the York Rite.
