Yankee Fairy Tales often begin with "Once upon a time..."

Southern Fairy Tales Always begin with "You guys ain't gonna believe this s**t..."

I seem to recall reading in one of Tom Clancy's books that the difference between a War Story and a fairy tale was that a War Story always began with "No bull, this actually happened".
