Did the server die,  or was it just my computer.

The servers were hung with an 'SQL' (data base) error.   Stonecutter must have been 'out of town' and didn't know.    I called and left a message on the answering machine Sunday.

This is what appeared on my screen:

"ACCESS DENIED

The Link you are accessing has been blocked by the Barracuda Web Filter because it contains SpyWare. The name of the spyware is: Spyware.Exploit.Misc.MU "

I thought I had been barred?

Please Note: I am not a Mason. And also, I am not an anti-Mason!

You had a different problem unrelated to the 'sever down' situation.  You need to check your spyware/antivirus program.

I'm a DBA.  If that happens again, I can assist if need be.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a DBA? Doctor of Business Administration?

I believe, in computer terms at least, it stands for Database Admin.

Quick google definition:

"A database administrator (DBA) is an IT professional who ensures that the software used to manage a database is properly maintained to allow rapid access when needed."

Perhaps a good candidate for another active forum admin, eh Ed?

 Just a thought. Wink

AS admins we still wouldn't have access to the server, it self.     The servers hung and simply needed rebooting for the 'DB server' to resync. At one time i could resync the DB remotely for some issues (but not system reboot). But when the servers move to their new location (suburb south-side of Chicago??) and put on cox cable system, I lost that ability.

Stonecutter normally checks his system every day, unless he is on a road trip.   Then he can usually access the servers remotely.

That makes sense.
