This is an old one, but bears repeating. Bill and Bob were inseparable best friends, did everything together, lived next door to each other. They were also brothers in the local Masonic Lodge. They practiced ritual with each other and held chairs in the Lodge. One day, Bob said to Bill, we are growing older and older. There will be a time when we will pass. I suggest that who ever passes first, make an attempt to contact the one that remains. They each agreed. As it were, one day Bill passes on to the Grand Lodge on high. A month or so goes by and one night while Bob is trying to get to sleep, he hears a voice. He waits and he hears it again. He calls out " Bill is that you?" and sure enough Bill replies. Bob asks Bill how is it. Bill says Heaven is beautiful and fair. His friends and relatives are there. He tells Bob, the Lodge is gold plated, with marble, jewels. Bill says he is so happy and comfortable there. He comments, that next week, they are conferring a second degree. Bob says that is great, how exciting.
